Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was seen ‘rolling her eyes’ at Donald Trump as European leaders gathered at the White House.
Leaders from Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, and other countries flew in to discuss the next stages in a prospective Russia-Ukraine ceasefire agreement.
After being embroiled in a battle for several years and confessing to failing to reach a peace agreement with Vladimir Putin after meeting with him just days before, Trump called a meeting to prepare for the future.
However, one leader sat next Trump and eyerolled twice during the conversations, resulting in viral moments.
The first time, Italian Prime Minister Meloni was photographed rolling her eyes at German Chancellor Friedrich Merz after he informed Trump that a cease-fire between Russia and Ukraine is critical.
She rolled her eyes numerous times while both men spoke, and people online thought the encounter revealed a lot about what she was thinking.
The video has gone viral on social media, featuring NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Merz, Meloni, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, and French President Emmanuel Macron addressing Ukraine.

While Merz and Macron publicly attempted to push Trump to get a ceasefire deal as negotiations with Russia fell flat, the German chancellor said: “Let’s try and put pressure on Russia, because the credibility of this effort, these efforts were are undertaking today, are depending on at least a ceasefire from the beginning of the serious negotiations, from next stop on.
“I would like to emphasize this aspect and would like to see a ceasefire from the next meeting, which should be a trilateral meeting, wherever it takes place.”
But as Merz spoke, Meloni rolled her eyes.

In a video released on X, Trump can be seen joking that Italian governments ‘don’t stay very long,’ despite the country having had 68 different administrations since WWII.
